Living in New York has been great for cutting down my consumerism. Surprising, right? But between the impossibly small living spaces and cost of essentials (ahem, rent), I look at every potential purchase with extra skepticism. This doesn’t, however, mean that I don’t love a good sale.
And right now, there are spring sales every which way. My favorites so far are:
- West Elm: I’ve wanted a new duvet cover for months, but they often run well over $100. I found this gorgeous ocean-inspired pattern for 40% off and hoping it brings seaside serenity to the bedroom.
- Cole Haan: In hopes that boot weather will soon be behind us, I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of loafers. Specifically, I thought I wanted sensible plain black leather. And then I saw these red velvet works of wonder for less than $60!*
Growing up, shopping meant walking straight through a store to the sale section without glancing at anything else. The weird thing is that my mom didn’t do this because we were poor – she just loved a good deal. Even as she came home with bags of loot and lengthy receipts, she’d greet my dad with “Guess how much I saved today!”
Using that logic, I’ve saved $200 this week!
How do you feel about spring sales?
